I think that our first mistake was selling out God due to political correctness and right around the corner we had other things that took His place. You don’t beleive me? Do we have prayer in schools anymore? Take a good look at them and what’s been occuring in them recently. We read, time and time and time again where the Hebrews became arrogant and foolish. They figured they didn’t need their lifeline to God anymore, so God gave them over to their enemies or basically just gave them what they wanted, absence of His presence. Let’s take a close look at the type of attitude that we have in government and society. We don’t want crosses shown in public. The ACLU says it’s a “separation of church and state” issue however what they did was twist one of Thomas Jefferson’s letters out of context and used it to fit their purpose. “Separation of Church and State” was meant to keep the state from corrupting the Church, funny how those who pervert history are driving this country back into the same kind of state that the pilgrims first settled here to get away from. And we all sat by and watched it happened. “All that has to happen for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing”. We don’t even want to mention His name in our pledge of allegiance. What’s worse, is that we mock, ridicule and villify those who dare mention His name, especially if their leaders.
Here’s just my personal opinion, maybe God is giving us exactly what we want just as he did the Hebrews when they wandered around in the wilderness for 40 years or when they were enslaved by their enemies after they entered the Promised Land.
“So don’t want to honor me anymore, eh? Don’t even want to mention me in your pledge of allegiance? What’s even worse is that you persecute, mock, ridicule and threaten my messengers and leaders, out of your dis-regard and resentment for my ways. In fact you seem to have more respect for other nation’s gods than you do me. Okay, not a problem. Obviously you feel that you are better off with another god……Let’s see how Allah, suits you. I wish you well.”
“Those who will not be governed by God will be ruled by tyrants”-William Penn
I don’t want Christianity as a state religion but to deny the fact that a fear and respect for God is what we originally based our basic laws of civility and justice from is just plain dis-honest not to mention foolish.
