Allen West “The story of Erin Cox, the Boston high school student suspended for being a designated driver is unconscionable”

The story of Erin Cox, the Boston high school student suspended for being called in as a designated driver is unconscionable. Sadly, it is indicative of the statist drive permeating our culture to negate individual initiative, personal responsibility, accountability, and acts of honor. When my daughter Aubrey tells me about times when she looks out for her sorority sisters, it makes me proud. Proud to know she is reflecting the Judeo-Christian values upon which she was raised. To the parents of this young lady, and to Erin as well, I commend you. Know that you embody two military creeds: never leave a fallen comrade behind and Semper Fidelis. http://cbsloc.al/16GtE1T

LtCol West, it was a honor to have met you last week at the Prince George’s County Lincoln Day Dinner. You’ve always been an inspiration, but your speech inspired me to get up and be counted without fear of retribution. I attend the Million Vets rally on Sunday and was so moved the thousands that showed up to make themselves heard. I’m sure that you have heard of the incidents that ensued when the marchers took the barri-cades up to the White House. You would have been proud, as I was, of our fellow vets and how they behaved themselves. As we walked from the WWII Monument to the Vietnam Wall, you could have heard a pin drop as all paid their respects to our fallen. I wanted to cry. However, the desire to cry for the pride I felt soon diminished and turned to anger as when we arrived at the White House after a short period we were surrounded by police cars on one side and blue helmeted riot police on the other. They proceeded to agitate the crowd, almost daring us to react, but other than a scuffle between a park police and one protestor everyone else maintained good order. While all this was going on I was approached by a reporter, Lynh Bui, from the Washington Post who asked to interview me. Initially I told her no because I know that the Compost never gives conservatives a fair shake. She proceeded to tell me that she was different and she would tell the truth. I fell for it and answered all her questions. She sent me the article below and though she didn’t write about anything I said, she proceeded to quote a park police who said that there were only “100 to 200 demonstrators”. I was so upset, because as you can see from the videos there were several thousands in attendance. I proceeded to reply to her email and let her know how I felt about her so-called “truth”. My response is below.Fondly, Provi, USAF LtCol Retired http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/veterans-protest-closure-of-monuments-and-memorials/2013/10/13/adaf699c-342e-11e3-be86-6aeaa439845b_story.html?wpisrc=emailtoafriend Ms. Bui:

My name is Provi Ortiz, I’m the female vet you spoke to at the White House on Sunday when the park police were agitating the crowd of protesting vets. When I initially told you I didn’t want to speak to you because the Washington compost always slants to the liberal left, you told me that you were different and that you would report the truth. Do you call “U.S. Park Police estimated there were 100 to 200 protesters and said there were no arrests” the truth?????? Please do not insult my intelligence by saying that this is a quote from the park police because you could easily have said “Park police made an estimate of 100 to 200 protesters, however, in my estimation there were several thousand”. You know that is the truth, the attached videos should remind you of that. http://youtu.be/wqZ0Yvc9CbI , http://youtu.be/mQBaheeFadM http:// . God forbid that you would report the truth and shed light on the fact the citizens in this country are fed up with the lack of leadership and integrity from our elected officials. It is really sad that this country no longer can rely on an impartial media who is willing to hold the elected officials accountable for squandering our money on:

I GUESS THAT IS THE NEW OBAMA DOESN’T CARE PROGRAM. TEACH THE DECENT PEOPLE NOT TO HELP OTHERS IN NEED.. I BET IF THE GIRL HAD BEEN A SITER, THEN THIS DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR OF THE SCHOOL WOULD HAVE HIT THE MEDIA WITH PRIDE AND CCOMPLIMENTS FROM THE LEFT..
WAKE UP CTIZENS AND PRAY THAT GOD WILL BLESS AMERICA. ALL GOOD CITIZERNS OF EVERY RACE AND RELIGION SHOULD GET TOGETHER AND PRAY..

Right. We can’t have anyone’s help unless they toe the party line, and even then, the State will take action if there isn’t a government program involved. God will have to resolve this, because it’s already too late. The deception is intoxicating to an increasingly depraved America.

The problem here is “zero tolerance” policies… a mentality that absolves school officials from having the THINK about what is right or wrong in various situations. It is ridiculous. However I do not think that blaming the president for how this incident was handled by a local school district makes any sense at all.

You can read the story here: http://boston.cbslocal.com/2013/10/13/north-andover-high-punishes-teen-for-giving-drunken-pal-ride-home-from-party/

Erin was NOT a designated driver. She was not at the underage party where liquor was being served. A drunk friend called her to come pick her up. She did and was demoted and suspended from the volleyball team because of her school’s supposed “zero tolerance” policy. It makes no sense!

She wasn’t at “designated driver” she was a “savior” driver so that her classmates wouldn’t driver and get into a potential terrible situation. She was a “trusted” friend and reliable driver.

for everyone….google….an obituary in London….common sense died today !! this is as “stupid” a decision by grown adults / people in authority …that are supposed to have many years of life experience & wisdom….set examples for our children / young adults…”absolutely”…remember the people responsible for making these rules / determinations….when election day comes around…

Unbelievable. In today’s society, no good deed is exempt from the system screwing a well intentioned good act like in this case. A good act may subject the do gooder to mounds of paper work, witness harassment, possible counter suits for their deed helping a possible plaintiff, etc. Can I say she was a Good Samaritan without criticism? Unless it is politically correct the system can screw the well intentioned.

She did NOT drink and was cleared by the police. How is that in violation of a zero tolerance policy? I thought that NOT drinking WAS zero tolerance!! Apparently the school needs to blow the dust off a dictionary in the library and read the definition of ZERO!
