Coca Cola’s Politically Correct attempt at the balkanization of America

1779840_10152508354766729_238922200_n

Allen West “I am quite sure there may some who appreciated the commercial, but Coca Cola missed the mark in my opinion. If we cannot be proud enough as a country to sing “American the Beautiful” in English in a commercial during the Super Bowl, by a company as American as they come — doggone we are on the road to perdition. This was a truly disturbing commercial for me, what say you?”

I don’t mind the many cultures in the commercial. However, I agree they ALL should have been singing in English. Epic fail in my opinion.

  • Barbara Ann

No more Coke 4 me. It’s Orange Crush !

    • Keith Myatt

The problem is that Coca Cola probably has the rights to bottle Orange Crush too.

      • Mara

Nope, Coke’s Orange soda is Fanta!

        • commonsense4sure

Who owns Fanta… best to check it out…

    • Keith Myatt

The problem is that Coca Cola probably has the rights to bottle Orange Crush too.

  • denvy42

    I so agree with you!

  • Tom Moran

I like it when people from other countries sing America the Beautiful in their native tongue. It reminds me of American Exceptionalism and proves that we are a city set upon a hill.

    • CJArndt

Exactly. People from far and wide sing the praises of this wonderful place and its ideals.

  • Michael

    Never liked Coke anyway

    • satin85718

      It’s only good for cleaning.

  • nanap

I literally HATE that terminology “politically correct”. It is definitely one sided and not at all correct. It has been the worst policy to infest the USA in my lifetime. Very disappointed in Coca Cola.

  • GrayRider

I was irritated and disgusted. Coca-Cola can take their cultural marxism and shove it up their Obamaland.

    • jmort253

Wouldn’t cultural marxism be the opposite of celebrating diversity? I thought communism was about making everyone be exactly the same?

      • commonsense4sure

I suggest you go educate yourself!

      • Jim Replogle

thinking U.S. is the country that allows everything but it is time for other countries and religions such as Islam to start showing they

        are diversified also!

      • flothow

Nope, Marxism, communism, Islamism, Naziism and all the other ism’s are all about ‘do as I say and not as I do’. The dictators (called Dear Leader or Mullah) are at the top of the food chain and have no wants…the rest are at the bottom of the food chain and sometimes get their needs met.

      • GrayRider

Cultural Marxism or Cultural Bolshevism (degenerate culture) seeks to destroy everything good about a society, what holds it together, what helps it to advance, what promotes intelligence and beauty. It seeks to degenerate society and take it to a lower form where people are less intelligent and more animal. It’s based on the Marixst lie that everything good about society is all a form of oppression. Every time anyone promotes cultural marxism, they use the same line claiming it is about freeing people from oppression. These common cultural marxist themes all are promoted by the same lie that they are done in the name of freedom: liberalism, sexual perversion, degenerate art, degenerate music, mass immigration, anti-intelligence and promotion of people acting like animals, corrupted versions of feminism, multiculturalism, marijuana, oppressing people of european-ancestry, and destroying nationalism, and destroying non-jewish-religion.

  • GrayRider

I was irritated and disgusted. Coca-Cola can take their cultural marxism and shove it up their Obamaland.

    • Cesar Perez

It’s just a commercial, get over yourself and go back to your Klan meeting.

  • Kathy Fisher

So dang tired of Political Correctness and trying to make everyone happy! This commercial dial missed the mark & only TICKED ME OFF!!

  • Kathy Fisher

So dang tired of Political Correctness and trying to make everyone happy! This commercial totally missed the mark & only TICKED ME OFF!!

  • Billy Winthrop

    not another penny for coke…ever

  • Flarn Buckholter

Sodas are pure sugar, laced with acid and preservatives. I gave them up long ago.
By not designating AMERICAN ENGLISH as our official language, we brought this upon ourselves. We can’t blame Coke for trying to make money off of it.

  • TroubleAtTheMine

It shows just how much of an empty fad the balkanization of America really is, as fatuous and vacant as the 60s fake values of universal love and togetherness.

  • MLC

No more coke for me either!

  • Harry Spencer

I normally drink three 12 packs of diet coke cans per week. After this commercial they can sell it in Iran or Mexico City because Diet Dr. Pepper is my new drink.

  • Adriel Rodriguez

It does not matter the language but meaning behind the song.

    • James Humphreys

      Wrong !

  • Pat Farrelly

This ad disgusted me. If you live in this country, learn the English words to our patriotic songs. Shame on Coca Cola for making this ad.

  • comi7

    Coke is out!

    • kathynwolf

If you knew what soda does to cars and paint you wouldn’t drink any of it. Take an open can of soda and place it on the hood of a car (don’t use a good car for this), and leave it there for awhile. The condensation will eat the paint. Have grease on your engine? You can use soda to clean it. Wash it off right away though or the soda will corrode the metal. I used to carry loads of soda syrup and had to label the load as “hazardous” because it is “corrosive” and some like orange and grape as “flammable” also.

  • Wraith

You could hear my wife and I rolling our eyes clear down the block. Is nothing safe from the Cult of Diversity?

  • Dixie Cruz-Aleman

I commented earlier to my FB friends that, no matter whatever else we are, we are Americans and the song should have been sung in English ONLY. One country, one people, one language. We are Americans and we speak English.

    • Jason Luthor

Really because the country was established by Dutch, German, French, English, and Spanish speakers nott o mention the millions of native speaking Africans moved here that had multiple dialects and among whom some were writers of Arabic.

      • Jim Case

They need to assimilate to our language and customs or leave….

        • jmort253

Isn’t making everyone be the same one of the first steps toward communism?

          • commonsense4sure

Did someone drop you on your head at birth??

          • commonsense4sure

Did someone drop you on your head at birth??

          • Suzanne Miranda

We need to be able to communicate.

        • kathynwolf

I disagree about customs, but the language is important. Without a common language we cannot communicate, without communication, there is no understanding or sense of community. A nation divided by language cannot stand.

          • commonsense4sure

            Hi Kathy,
No it was directed towards jmort253. Your’s was a sensible and logical post!

          • keysrat

            Well said Kathynwolf!!

        • kathynwolf

I disagree about customs, but the language is important. Without a common language we cannot communicate, without communication, there is no understanding or sense of community. A nation divided by language cannot stand.

      • kathynwolf

And the very first thing these people did was learn English. Many a child grew up not knowing their parents or grand parents language because they were not allowed to speak it. The new immigrants were proud of America and the opportunities we are given and wanted their children to be a part of that by speaking the language.

        • jmort253

Immigrants between WW1 and WW2 were proud, but they were also fearful of being ostracized, since back then it was Germans who were the “terrorists” of the time. This is why most Americans know nothing of their family history past a few generations; their grandparents and great-grandparents didn’t pass it on because of all of the anti-German sentiment of the time. They felt it was better for their children not only out of pride, but because of the hate.

          • kathynwolf

That doesn’t explain the immigrants during the 1800’s, or those from Italy, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Russia etc. They all learned the language.

          • jmort253

Holding onto one language doesn’t mean you don’t learn the new one. Many other cultures outside the US are fluent in multiple languages, including English.

I feel like we all just interpreted the song differently. Some saw it as a celebration of the diversity in our country, but I think others saw it as Coca Cola translating for people who don’t speak English. The people featured in the video, who were interviewed afterwards, are all fluent in English.

I agree 100% that folks need to learn English to succeed, even outside the US, but we shouldn’t bully them into forgetting their heritage. Hope this helps clarify.

          • commonsense4sure

There is ZERO logic to your thinking! Wonder what you’ve been drinking!

          • kathynwolf

common, not sure who this post is directed to.

          • Jim Replogle

my folks came through Ellis Island and were happy to be in America and first thing they did was to learn English to help fit in and become more of American.

          • moodyjudi

Really? Is that why the Italians, Irish, Vietnamese, Japanese, Cuban, Hebrews, and many others from that time learned English? Because they didn’t want people to think they were terrorists? Lmfao. Nice try. The immigrants up until about 1975 ALL learned English and WANTED the American dream. They knew that if they wanted to advance, they needed to be able to communicate. English is the dominate language, and until recently, you didn’t have to press one for English. his new bunch doesn’t even pretend to want to blend, they want to dominate and destroy. Just keep drinking that Koolaid and stay blind to what is all around you.

        • Betty Pietro

Maybe when our fore-fathers invaded this country they should have learned the native language.

      • Jim Replogle

then you know that English was the written word of America and first thing people use to do on Ellis Island coming in to America was to learn English, source of pride being American. I know if I moved to France I would feel I need to learn Franch and that people living there needed to change their lifestyles to fit mine and language.

      • katie

BUT, Jason Luther, our national language IS English! the people who came here then, learned English! They had respect enough to not try to make us adapt to them with a “Press 1 for English” type of culture! People who want to come here need to respect us!

    • satin85718

United we stand, divided we fall.

  • Dixie Cruz-Aleman

I commented earlier to my FB friends that, no matter whatever else we are, we are Americans and the song should have been sung in English ONLY. One country, one people, one language. We are Americans and we speak English.

I have bought my last coke.

  • bikerdogred1

I have bought my last coke.

  • Texsheva

I totally agree with you. I was shocked when they began singing in other languages and feel football & Coke is about as American as you can get. Too bad they couldn’t feel good about promoting the EXCEPTIONALISM of America!!! Oh well….I like Pepsi, too.

    • Jason Luthor

I have no idea what’s not American about a Spanish speaker.

    • Chief741A

Jason, please tell us which of the founding documents of our nation was written in Spanish?

Remain proficient in your “native” tongue, by all means, but we speak English here.

  • Texsheva

I totally agree with you. I was shocked when they began singing in other languages and feel football & Coke is about as American as you can get. Too bad they couldn’t feel good about promoting the EXCEPTIONALISM of America!!! Oh well….I like Pepsi, too.

  • poof

Total disgrace.Never buy a coke product again as long as I live.

  • Eric ‘Rich’ Richardson

Watching all of these idiotic ‘boycott Coke’ posts because it was ‘un-‘Mericun’ that Coca-Cola did a commercial using (gasp!) multiple languages to sing ‘America the Beautiful’… is the equivalent of watching chimpanzees throwing their poop at the zoo. News flash! 99.9% of you mouth breathers aren’t ‘Murican either. Unless you can trace your ancestry to every generation in your family being born in North America — I’m sure that true Native American’s would have been happy for you to have your Coke products if they could have their land back.

    • mastersoftheobvious

This is the stupidest post I’ve seen in a while. The Native Americans came from Asia several millenia ago; at least that’s what the scientists say the DNA evidence indicates (scientists of mostly European ancestry) since the Native Americans had no written language and no real knowledge of their history. You think that The Native Americans would trade Coke products for their land? Why don’t you start by finding a Native American and giving him YOUR house? And since we would be returning them to their original state lets take back the things they got from the Europeans like the WHEEL and everything else that lifted them from the stone age.
Whether you like it or not, America WAS built primarily by English speaking people. The people from other countries came here and learned English.

A couple of questions for you. How do you know how other people breathe? And where in the hell did you learn to spell? It’s AMERICAN. I’ve never seen anyone else talk or write about ‘Mericuns.

      • jmort253

I think Eric was being facetious in his mispronunciation of “America” to poke fun at the redneck subculture who think being dumb and stupid is something to be proud of.

        • mastersoftheobvious

I am aware of what he was doing but the “Redneck subculture which thinks being dumb and stupid is is something to be proud of” is a subculture that exists primarily in the minds of liberals who are themselves proudly ignorant about what others think.
They mock others as a convenient straw man when they don’t have a real argument.

          • keysrat

Well said ~ have you noticed all the “Redneck” shows the entertainment community are producing? Gators, turtles, prospecting, myrtle manor, honey boo boo, duck dynasty, This is how liberals portray Conservative Christian Americans. They are afraid of us and this is the only way they feel they can defeat us.

          • Farhan Chowdhury

No we think you are stupid because a large portion of your demographic believe the earth is less than 10000 years old. Why should America fear a dying demographic… The christian conservative.

          • keysrat

            We are America!

          • Farhan Chowdhury

Yes, so is every other U.S. Citizen regardless of race and religion.

    • Sandy Caruso

Got hit with some of the chimpanzee ‘poop’ did ya? You’re surely not thinking right. It’s called “America the Beautiful” for a reason. Not Iraq or Saudi Arabia or Syria the Beautiful. It’s needs to be sung in the ‘native’ American tongue.

    • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bit4wKl_qZk Claudio Marchisio

The ones who you believe are “Native American'” are actually not the true natives of this land. New research shows that the actual natives are from Europe.

  • Grace Kelly

Ever hear of free speech? What language did your ancestors who immigrated here speak? Lots of 3rd generations Americans speak their family’s native language. A person who speaks more than one language is probably smarter than someone who only speaks one. Open your minds, you hateful xenophobes.

    • satin85718

My grandparents (mother’s side) came from Poland and English was to be spoken in the house. Granny learned quickly and became a citizen of this country. Father is from England—-doesn’t count.

    • satin85718

My grandparents (mother’s side) came from Poland and English was to be spoken in the house. Granny learned quickly and became a citizen of this country. Father is from England—-doesn’t count.

  • Randy Lowery

I liked Barqs root beer until coke bought them and screwed the taste up.

  • grandpaez

Why would any self respecting American drink coke. Don’t you know that we surrendered to north Vietnam and china when they agreed to let them sell coke inside there country. Exclusive right to sell coke to 1 billion people.

  • audieho

I respectfully disagree. I thought it was beautifully done and reflected the differing backgrounds from which we all came to become one nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Most of my career was anchored in joint duty, specifically providing communication support for SOCOM. I served with many soldiers, sailors, Marines and airmen who had migrated to America. Some had difficulty speaking English but they were still just as willing to die for our wonderful nation. I don’t care what language they speak. They helped make America beautiful and I absolutely don’t mind hearing America the Beautiful in their native language.

    • kathynwolf

I’m sorry but I cannot agree. I live in a small town and have seen what happens when about half the population does not speak English. There is no sense of Community. It is very hard to meet people. When I go to the store the only ones talking are those who already know each other. Those who do not speak English show no signs of trying to learn. I live in the country and have 5 neighbors within walking distance. I have attempted to meet them all but 3 of them do not speak English. We have no sense of Community, no sense of neighbors helping each other and no common bonds. Communication can not begin unless we can speak to each other.

    • satin85718

The song is likened to a American prayer. I understand what your saying but other countries are devoted to the song of their countries in their language. For the rest? As long as they come in legally, mine did.

  • lelone1028

“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could
number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages” … for the bigots and haters, you might want to brush up on your Bible. And for Mr West … what is your family’s country of origin? Or does that not count? We all sing Silent Night at Christmas, correct? Do you know that was originally written in German? The German’s were never upset that it became an American staple. Any one that bad-mouthed this commercial is the main reason so many other countries call us bigots. Who can blame them? This commercial was a beautiful thing and we should be proud of what this country offers to us and to all.

    • Allen West Republic

Please check Revelations again and see that you are using this completely out of context and it has nothing to do with America by itself but pertains to the seventh seal in the return of the Lord.

    • shellrim

@Lelone1028, sorry but ur part of the unpatriotic commies who destroy this country. Im born in Germany, emigrated the legal and hard way over 40 years ago.I make sure that my daughter learn English first and only English. why she speaks German it is clear that she’s a native American citizen. as for silent night holy night, yes it was written in German but it was written for the world, all Christians. You, most likely an atheist, you have not even noticed that it is a Christian song and not a National Anthem which are only sung and the national language.

  • Deborah Robinson Barber

Glad I like Rum and Pepsi

  • Ron LaRue

I like that we are America… and I like that we embrace all people. This ad did not disturb me and I am and always have been a very proud conservative American. I do not like how the nation as a whole is progressinging, I think the light of the world dims with our nation… However, we are a global community, as a people and we must set aside all issues besides electing correct minded Americans so that we can retake our nation… and therefore become the light of freedom for the world once again… Research and vote for the right people in your districts… I hope Allen West runs for the ultimate office… We need more like him.

    • commonsense4sure

Erica Harold in Illinois for US Congress is a very impressive young woman… doesn’t need a teleprompter either to speak. She’s extremely bright, articulate and common sense….. look her up folks!

  • Tanya Grimsley

In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man’s becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American. If he tries to keep segregated with men of his own origin and separated from the rest of America, then he isn’t doing his part as an American.

There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile.

We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language for we intend to see that the crucible turns our people out as Americans, and American nationality, and not as dwellers in a polyglot boarding house; and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people. – Teddy Roosevelt.

You sound like you’d enjoy hanging out over on Stormfront.

“Took a beautiful song that is sacred to the American people, one that we
have always sung with national pride, and totally trashed it.
Absolutely disgusting. I guess our national language is no longer
English. Saw every degenerate represented : illegal hispanics, muslims,
gays, jews. This is the new America. Drink up.”
    -Stormfront

    • Judge

Sorry, but English STILL isn’t our National Language…HHHMMMM?

  • Jim Case

    I was thoroughly disgusted….

  • Chris McCormick

Primary language of America is English. .. why would commercials not be in English! You are an idiot COKE and the choice you made was Stupid! Why don’t you just sing the national anthem in Japanese next! We got enough foreigners here already quit supporting it and sell your crap to them where they come from! Advertise it there like that Not here!

  • disqus_tObYqppPWg

Coca-cola has brought dirty “politics” into their brand. Bad move. Now they’ve cut their customer base, drastically.

    • AntiTeaTheist

Yup. Now all the inbreds can go drink Pepsi. Nope! Pepsi supports gay rights. Looks like it’s just water for you people.

      • disqus_tObYqppPWg

Inbreds would have to be the lefties. They are the ones who feel it is just fine, to sleep with anyone or anything. I could care less about homosexuality. It is a victimless behavior. How did sexuality get into this conversation anyway? I thought we were talking about the coke commercial.

        • Farhan Chowdhury

Strawman much? Somehow supporting two consententing Adults regardless of gender translates into sleeping with everyone?

    • AntiTeaTheist

Yup. Now all the inbreds can go drink Pepsi. Nope! Pepsi supports gay rights. Looks like it’s just water for you people.

  • shrgngatlas

I didn’t like it, either. Waaaay to politically correct for my tastes.

  • Sandy Caruso

Glad we didn’t watch the ‘stupid bowl’. After the wardrobe malfunction a few years ago we decided as a family to spend our time doing something more productive. Now that Coke has gone all politically INcorrect may we remind everyone…WE LIVE IN AMERICA…so here’s our message…. Coke…won’t touch that nasty stuff ever again. You can sell your crap to the towel heads.

  • Ron Terry

In 65 years of drinking soft drinks, I have probably never drank more than 4 or 5 Pepsi’s ever! Even when Coke was experimenting with their New Coke, I drank Sprite. But if this ad indicates the new thinking at Coca Cola headquarters, maybe I should find an alternative soft drink, for this is not the Coca Cola company that I grew up proud of! If a person is ashamed of their beliefs to the point that they give up their identity to try and get along with others, they soon lose their own.

I pray that this was a fluke and they will realize the error of this approach..

  • David Johnson

Hearing America the beautiful in several languages in a commercial is open minded. The melody and meaning is the same. I think its a over reaction to see this as negative. The fruit of this message is from a good tree. Yes I am republican and believe Allan West is still the best choice for the next American president. If the republican party is smart they will get behind his american dedication and willingness to keep America beautiful. We may not agree here but on many other issues yes.

  • Amastris

and in Germany, France, England, Spain, Japan, Mexico, China, Korean, South Africa, Swedan, Netherlands… etc. they all speak English and learn it immediately. In the USA, you can learn, French, Korean, Hebrew, Spanish, Japanese, Latin, or Korean but only required to take it 2 years. Why? Because all the other countries speak English. They started that before they sailed the ocean and developed colonies. Again, why? Because England spoke English and it was a SuperPower. So, no, it doesn’t matter what ‘ethnicity’ founded what early settlement or city, they all spoke English. Period.

    • Chief741A

I was born in Germany (of American parents) and spent 8 years of my life there. The last time I was there, I was an Army officer stationed at Weisbaden AB. I came into frequent contact with German military personnel on a regular basis, and I can tell you this: EVERY TIME I ATTEMPTED TO SPEAK IN GERMAN – I was asked to speak in English because my German hurt their ears.

Kinda hard to learn a different language when everybody knows yours… But I tried.

I tried to learn the language when I was there, and I expect the same from anybody who comes here. Tourists are one thing, “immigrants” are another. If you want to advance here, learn English.

When I hear “press 1 for English” – I hang up.

    • satin85718

Really? Only Mexican business push for the English language or those who have relatives here. Amazing how many Mexican’s live in the USA for years and never learn the language.

    • Betty Pietro

The original people in this country did not speak English.

  • CarolinaSistah

The first thing to remember is that this was a TV advertisement for a product. The intent of the ad was to promote sales of its product. Sorry folks, Coca-Cola is purchased by people of all types, not just Americans. I think they did well to keep “America the Beautiful” within the ad, letting all know that Coca-Cola is American.

    • satin85718

      Then use a non-patriotic song!!!!!!

      • CarolinaSistah

They certainly could have chosen another song, but then their message would have changed… “it’s American to drink Coca-Cola”.
I’m not unsympathetic to your and other’s position opposing the ad, just saying …it’s marketing!

        • flothow

This is America. Love it or leave it. If I were to go to Iran, I’m sure I’d have to speak Farsi (IF I ever got out of prison).

        • satin85718

Political correctness is what has and is destroying this country. I could care less about political correctness! Could care less about how liberals and democrats think about me. I only care about God and this country which is for me primary. You people don’t get nor do you want to. You bend with the wind. I stand tall and stiffly straight.

          • CarolinaSistah

I don’t know why you think it’s important to convince me. Who is ‘you people’? I’ve never been a pc person and I haven’t started now. I bend to no-one but Jesus Christ my Lord. Don’t get it twisted!

It is an advertisement and I stand strong for Coca-Cola’s right to free speech & expression; just as I stand strong for my own and your rights.

          • satin85718

I could care less what you think. “you people”, folks that think like you, lib, dems, do gooders for (they think) society should be according to ‘garp’. Money walks, money talks. Always has and always will. Companies put the dollar bill on an alter and then bow to their god. Always have and always will. Then come the sheeple. Got it?

They certainly could have chosen another song, but then their message would have changed… “it’s American to drink Coca-Cola”.
I’m not unsympathetic to your and other’s position opposing the ad, just saying …it’s marketing!

  • Janie Johnson

Was not impressed with their commercial at all, won’t buy Coca – cola any more….

  • brez22

I agree with most of America that America The Beautiful should have been sung in English. I doubt Coke expected such backlash. I think the concept was good but the execution was entirely wrong. What they should have done was had the ppl from different nationalities sing it in English with their accents. Because what I think the general feeling is & it basically comes down 2 is, ur in America now so be grateful, respect it & speak the language.

  • Tom Hunt

Multi Culturalism does not work. If you don’t believe this, ask anybody who lives in France or England.

  • gregzotta

Is Coke trying or wanting to balkanize the country? Very poor commercial!

  • Nick Morales

I drank my last Coke tonight. – one angry Veteran.

  • Chris west

I normally agree with you, but I don’t see the big deal with this one. I think they were just showing another aspect of America.

  • James H Lewis II

This is a sad thing to see. Culture of America is the culture of EVERYONE who ever immigrated here. Ugh. Seriously. And as for being sung in English. Seriously. This country has a primary language. English. But what you don’t seem to get is the power of teaching in someone’s native tongue. Sometimes I think this country is her own worst enemy. Quit giving the media ammo to slander the real movement of peace and prosperity and liberty, by being ignorant.

  • Mguzman

We speak ENGLISH in the USA……..or has all that changed?

  • James Malloy Dough

We need a moratorium on immigration, close off the borders, get all the marxists out of the school system, arrest Killery Klinton and Barry Soetoro and everyone working for and with them to get US arms, ammo and money moved from Benghazi to Al Qaeda in Syria, get rid of all the establishment statist elites of the republican party or let the republican party go the way of the Whig party, and have a concentrated education of legal US citizens on the principles of liberty that are codified in the Declaration of Independence, US Constitution and Bill of Rights, as well as what free enterprise capitalism really all are and mean, then we have a fighting chance of saving the nation from disaster.

    • Carter_Burger67

You know Democrats are not going to go for that. Too many potential voters.

People still drink that stuff??? I never allowed my children to drink iany kind of soda except on special occasions like a party…Out of four children there was ONE cavity…Since I worked and raised them mostly by myself, we didn’t have dental insurance so I couldn’t afford to take them to the dentist regularly…And they all have beautiful healthy teeth….Take that crap from your children…Feed them real food…

It was like going to the DMV in CA…..books in every language you can think of, but want it in English and you have to ask for it!

  • Christine Johnson

If you want to be an American than sing the song as it was written In English! We as a people need to start coming together. Diversity is fine and all till it divides us.

  • Gerardo Payumo

Is America still the America the Founding Fathers established when they drew the Declaration of Independence? Is it still the old American Dream? What does Coke know or want to project that we are missing here? Mind you, Coke is a transnational corporation. As such, it is not citizen of any country, rather, they may be ruling over countries. These companies are owned by the world’s top 1% and they want one world gov’t, one world religion. To accomplish this, America is a major stumbling block. They have to bring down America if they are to accomplish their objectives.

  • slmkenn

100% with you, Allen. I nearly cried. We, the CITIZEN workers and taxpayers are now being marginalized by our own government, the corporations we helped to grow and the immigrants and non-working we now support with our taxes.

    • Farhan Chowdhury

Many of these immigrants are students in schools such as MIT and Caltech on the for front of scientific advancement. Many of them are engineers doctors and even active duty personnel. For some reason I doubt you contributed more to this nation than many immigrants in this nation.

      • slmkenn

And what reason would that be, Farhan? And no. Very FEW of THESE (those here illegally) immigrants are students who contribute to OUR scientific advancement. In fact, many of the students take the education and contribute elsewhere – and MOST of the immigrants are here illegally (which are of the group of immigrants and non-working citizens *that the rest of us are supporting* to which I refer in my lament.) Immigrants who are here legally and ARE contributing are very welcome imho. Odd that you chose to hone in on one false assumption and then make another as to what my contributions might be! Or maybe it’s not odd at all and just something that you do.

What say I? I say, and I mean this with all due respect: What the hell is wrong with you?

  • Andy Einsamer Wolf

I am a Marine Corps Veteran, I am also part Native American Indian, I said that just in case there are any of the “Politically Correct crowd” out there reading this, but I too was disturbed by this commercial, Yes, America is a great melting pot of different people from different lands, but this is America, if you wish to come to this country and be a LEGAL citizen of our country, obey our laws, serve our country, adopted our customs and traditions and etc. we welcome you with open arms but this is America, English is our official language, we are not going to change that or the principals that made our country great, America never asked people to live here, People asked America if they could live here, So if you love America and want to live here, (Legally) Show America respect by learning and using our language.

  • Jay Polk

“America the Beautiful” is a song honoring the beauty of America and asking for God to “…shed his grace…” on it. Are you saying that you can only honor or compliment America in English? I think there are several commenters on this site that need to back up a few steps and re-think their positions.

  • hardtruth00

This commercial would be fine if it were exclusively played OUTSIDE the U.S. Playing here, is UN-acceptable.

  • DixieCol

I agree 100% that the Coke commercial represented what is wrong with America these days. The politically-correct elite are always pushing the mantra that “diversity is strength”. Personally, I think “diversity” is the opposite of “unity”, and “unity” to me connotes teamwork. I believe that America’s historic greatness came about as a result of our “unity” as Americans–e pluribus unum–and the constant push by the politically-correct elite in stressing our differences, rather than our similarities as Americans, is what is helping to destroy our Republic.

  • katie

I TOTALLY agree with the United States Veteran quoted above! Thank you for saying it so much better than I ever could!

  • flothow

This is America. Love it or leave it. If I were to go to Iran, I’m sure I’d have to speak Farsi (IF I ever got out of prison).

  • Carol Cole-Ramos

“In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American… There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag… We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language… and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.” Key word ‘assimilate’ Teddy Roosevelt

  • http://madrigalmaniac.com/ Jeff Parsons

What the hell is wrong with you people? You do understand there are cultures other than your own. Maybe some even watch the Super Bowl. Hell, I bet most drink Coke. How big of a thin skinned idiot do you have to be to not like this commercial? I suppose you had issues when Coca Cola wanted to teach the whole world to sing.

  • Bobby Wetten

Mr West you are attempting to compare this inspiring commercial with Balkanization? I think not!

No where in this advertisement was there any hint or endorsement of fragmenting our dear nation. In fact just the opposite.

In the short time that this spot aired Coke managed to express what is truly great about our country… Diversity and Multiculturalism. Unfortunately, you weren’t able to grasp this simple message.

Make no mistake… If our country heads down the road to a truly Balkanized society…this commercial will have not been the reason. No that honor will fall squarely in the laps of Tea Partiers and other like minded folks such as you and your benefactors … The Koch Bros??

    Honestly Yours

    Bobby Wetten

    • Antoine Hayes

Is that a joke? Exactly how is multiculturalism good for America? Every single country in history broke up due to it ( Austria-Hungary, Yugoslavia, ancient Rome, Sudan….) How can a home survive when all it’s inhabitants speak different languages, have different beliefs and have different desires? This is why Asian countries like China and India are against multiculturalism and as a result have booming economies. America was at its peak before multiculturalism.

  • Butch Davis

    CEO is MUSLIM.

    • Farhan Chowdhury

      And?

      • Butch Davis

read , you might learn something. Islam requires all Muslims to deceive anyone NOT Muslim, demeans women, and had no qualms about killing non-Muslim. and you don’t have a problem with that?
