Allen West: Homeland Security committee issues STARK TERROR warning; media SILENT

I know that this report from our House Homeland Security Committee will probably never see the light of day via the media in America — they are too busy reporting sensationalism.

As Written By Allen B. West:

These past couple of days, I’ve been sitting with my daughters and they’ve wholeheartedly admitted they’re tired of this presidential election cycle. In the words of my oldest daughter, Aubrey, “Dad, is this really the best we can do?” This year is the first time our youngest daughter, Austen, can vote in an election, and honestly, Dad wishes he could hit a redo button. However, it is what it is and we have four choices, but it’s rather challenging to get the girls excited. And so what I try to do is not speak with them about the individuals, but rather the issues. Aubrey and Austen both seek to go into the medical field, one as a physician’s assistant, the other as a nurse. So the future of healthcare in America is a very important issue for them. Also, I spend some time trying to help them understand tax policy and economic growth issues.

However, there’s one issue that’s vital to their future, their safety…and this is what I wish we were discussing instead of Wikileaks and audio tapes, and sexual innuendo scandals.

As posted at the House Homeland Security Committee website’s October terror threat snapshot: The October Terror Threat Snapshot was released today by Homeland Security Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX). The “snapshot” is a monthly Committee assessment of the growing threat America, the West, and the world face from ISIS and other Islamist terrorists.

Chairman McCaul: “The recent arrest in Maryland of an ISIS supporter plotting to kill a U.S. service member and the attacks in Minnesota, New York, and New Jersey are stark reminders that Americans face a serious Islamist terror threat at home. The alarming surge of ISIS and al Qaeda-linked violence across the West is, in large part, fueled by a jihadist movement that is deeply entrenched in critical regions across the globe. Not to be outdone, hostile state actors like Russia and Iran continue to exploit a power vacuum, extending their own influence at America’s expense while also stoking the very conflicts that help sustain terrorist groups.”

Key takeaways in this month’s Terror Threat Snapshot:

ISIS’ ability to sow terror in the West has not been significantly diminished as the United States confronts the most alarming terror threat environment since 9/11.

Islamist terrorists from ISIS to al Qaeda sit atop a global jihadist network strengthened by safe havens, hardened fighters, local supporters, diverse resources, and advanced technologies.

The “terrorist diaspora” from Syria and Iraq will remain a significant threat in the years to come, particularly as fighters continue to infiltrate the West amidst massive refugee and migrant flows.

The primary state sponsor of terror, Iran, continues to threaten the United States and undermine its interests. It is dismantling the sanctions regime, developing more robust military and nuclear capabilities, spreading its malevolent influence throughout the Middle East, and sustaining the conflicts that empower extremists of all stripes.

Former Guantanamo Bay terror detainees are continuing to return to the ranks of jihadist organizations at a dangerous clip.

Now, according to the White House mouthpiece, Josh Earnest, this is all about a war of narratives…you know, we just need to tell a better story. What has to be disconcerting to us all is that none of this will make the mainstream liberal progressive media. And remember that SecState John Kerry admonished, perhaps if the media just did not report about Islamic terrorism, people would not know about it.

How often have we heard the soothsaying words from Obama and other administration talking heads about all the progress we are making against ISIS and Islamic terrorism, jihadism. Heck, matter of fact, they do not even allude to the definition of Islamic terrorism; remember, that is offensive, and such talk, if at St. Louis University, will earn you the label of being a “provocateur” and cause students to walk out from a guest lecture. You know, saying radical Islamic terrorism violates the safe space and hurts the feelings of those who would prefer to live in the land of unicorns and rainbows.

The following charts should give us all concern, and my hope is that y’all will share with others:

This is what we’re facing and we can’t continue with the absence of leadership in this Country that conducts national security by way of obfuscation, denial and lying.

When was the last time we heard anyone discussing the fact that we’ve had 145 Americans killed or injured in ISIS-linked attacks? It was George Orwell who said, “in a universe of deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act.” We’re demonizing our law enforcement agencies while we relax surveillance processes and the ability for them to enact trend analysis procedures because we’re too doggone wedded to concerns about political correctness and hurt feelings. We continue to be castigated in denigrating terms just because we realize we’re living in an insecure environment in the United States.

This is not a partisan issue. In the St. Cloud, Minnesota mall stabbing jihadist attack, folks were not asked if they were Republican or Democrat. They were asked if they were Muslim or not…and that line of inquiry has been repeated in other places, such as the Nairobi, Kenya Mall shooting. And why is it that we’ve created such an atmosphere in America that the prevailing political sentiment is to assail those who present the truth, facts. Could it be that there’s a certain group incapable of protecting this Nation? Are there those who would much rather embrace the enemy and try to win them over with empathy, compassion, unity and love — ya know, “Stronger Together”? How is that Syrian refugee open borders endeavor working right now in Germany?

Yes, I do agree with my two daughters, this presidential election cycle sucks. The reason being is that we as an electorate have accepted the lowest common ….
