DEVELOPING: Shots fired outside Little Rock Air Force Base

FOX NEWS DEVELOPING: At least two people reportedly have been injured after shots were fired at the front gate of the Little Rock Air Force Base.

“Base security personnel are responding to an incident at the base gate. All base gates are currently closed to traffic,” the facility said on its Twitter account.

The base said two people were transported to a local hospital, although the extent of their injuries was not immediately clear. The incident happened around 9:15 a.m. local time.

The Jacksonville Police Department told Fox 16 that they believe the individuals tried to gain access to the base and were shot.

At least one of the injured is not a member of the military, a sergeant at the basetold THV11.

The base is advising personnel and visitors to stay away from its main gate.

JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (KTHV)

Emergency personnel are on the scene of a shooting outside the Little Rock Air Force Base.

According to Jacksonville Police Department Police Chief Kenny Boyd, an incident occurred at the gates of the base around 9:20 Monday morning. He said shots had been fired and at least one person was injured.

A sergeant at the base added that security forces are currently responding to the incident.

THV11’s Laura Monteverdi is on-scene and reports that as of 10:20 a.m., the base is on lockdown. She tweeted, “No one being allowed in or out.”
