Federal Agencies in Panic Mode before Trump Assumes Office

It was generally reported that President Obama and President-Elect Donald Trump had an agreement to freeze Federal hiring from December 6th onward. That agreement seems to have been buried by the hiring and promoting frenzy that is occurring in some Federal agencies. There is always someone who didn’t get the memo. Is this another case of ham-stringing Donald Trump?

The Obama administration is attempting to hamstring the successor Trump administration by hiring large numbers of new staff, and promoting existing employees before it leaves office.  Lisa Rein and Juliet Eilperin report in the Washington Post:

Several federal agencies are accelerating hiring in the final days of the Obama administration to ensure that as many new employees as possible are in place before President-elect Donald Trump imposes a promised hiring freeze.

Leaders at these agencies are filling open positions with transfers and outside hires and are making internal promotions before Trump takes office Jan. 20, according to internal documents and interviews.

It appears that a prior agreement is being flouted:

Fire every department head or manager that is uncooperative or offers resistance. We need smaller government anyway, that’s a good place to start.

All he needs to say is “You’re Fired”.

Not that easy to fire a federal employee. skippy knows their jobs are protected.

Hey Trump! Why don’t you just “pull a Scott Walker”? Decertify all public worker’s unions, as the Unconstitutional entities that they truly are, and start kicking all of these lazy, worthless, libby unionites to the curb!

There, problem solved, using good ol’ American ingenuity!

Union rules are only a part of the problem of firing federal people. Admittedly if they keep this kind of stuff up then they can be said to have made their beds.

After they have been there a certain amount of time its durn tough to get rid of them. There is a probation period when it is easier. If large amounts of people are being hired after an agreement it is a good excuse to fire everyone who is a new hire.

EXACTLY!! That was my thinking as well, the good old probation period after hire.
