Allen West “Today, as we wish our Jewish friends a happy Passover, lets also reflect on the freedoms so many have fought to preserve in our own nation”

banner

Dear Friends:

Sundown tonight marks the beginning of Passover and the Seder.

While we all come from different faiths and backgrounds, each of us can learn much from this Jewish holiday commemorating the struggle of the Jewish people over 3,000 years ago, their emancipation from slavery in Egypt, receipt of the Torah at Mt. Sinai, and establishment of their homeland in the Promised Land.

The eight day feast of Passover is a time when Jewish people reflect upon the story of their ancestors and retell it, parent to child, to ensure the love of liberty is passed on from generation to generation.

The Jewish people’s liberation from tyranny is not so different than ours as Americans. Our Founding Fathers fought the British monarchy so that we could enjoy the fruits of our labors and the liberties they believed were inherent to all human beings. But today, too many of us have lost sight of this and our freedoms seem not to be cherished as they should. This is abundantly evident in our political system that seeks to take away the very liberties enshrined in the Constitution-the right to bear arms, freedom of religion, freedom of speech, and more.

So today, as we wish our Jewish friends a happy Passover, let us also reflect on the freedoms so many have fought to preserve in our own nation, and ensure the love of liberty is passed on to our future generations.

Whazzup With Obama’s Policies? – Trouble is brewing on fronts foreign and domestic

Remember the old Bud Light commercials where the guys shouted “Whazzup?” I don’t know if they helped sell product, but they were doggone comical. I wish Bud Light would bring them back.

Unfortunately when you think about events of this week, that Bud Light commercial comes to mind in a more sobering context.Consider this: President Obama made his first trip to Israel, our best ally in the Middle East, since becoming president in 2009. This comes long after trips to Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. And in Egypt in 2009 at his infamous Cairo speech, Obama stated, “I have come here to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world.”Since then, Obama has ensured that the “green revolution” for democracy in Iran went unsupported. And mullahs and clerics there are thrilled that as they march toward nuclear capability, Obama still believes we can reason with them.

Obama also made certain that a new Muslim Brotherhood government rose to power in Egypt – and he gave them nice new toys like tanks, fighter jets and even money. He enabled Libya to fall under the control of radical Islamist groups and militias. Hamas and Hezbollah have become stronger, and Syrian President Bashar al-Asaad has ignored many admonitions to resign.Amid all these developments, Muslims are throwing shoes at Obama’s likeness, the greatest insult in their culture, and Palestinians are burning American flags.Whazzup?I thought we were going to have a new beginning in the Muslim world. After all, we withdrew from Iraq and have vowed to take U.S. troops from Afghanistan.I guess the power of the cult of personality just does not work in that part of the world. Israel finds itself in a far more dangerous neighborhood. And why would our president go visit the leader of a gang, Palestine Liberation Organization Chairman Abu Mazen? (Oops, sorry, that is Mahmoud Abbas’ Arabic name.)

Forget domestic tranquility

The news is equally disturbing here in America. This week is the three-year anniversary of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, aka “Obamacare.”The effects of Obamacare on the next generation will be horrific. Those who are 18 to 24 years old will see insurance premiums increase by 45 percent, while the hike is still a hefty 35 percent for those ages 25 to 29. By contrast, rates for the age group 55-59 are expected to decrease 12 percent. Some Americans also will lose healthcare coverage because of new rules that prohibit plans with annual limits. Obamacare is upping the minimum caps to $100,000 this year and $500,000. Commensurate student premiums could go from $500 to $2,000 or more, but then students will be able to stay on parents’ coverage until age 26.Meanwhile, there is a government takeover of student loans that will violate free-market principles, and the massive expansion of Medicaid will strain state budgets further. Sure, the federal government will pay for it, LOL. The end result of this expansion will be less funding for education – or higher state taxes. The fiscal burden we are leaving on the shoulders of future generations is nearing $1.5 trillion over the next 10 years and will explode our national debt.Hey young folks, call up AARP and ask them, “Whazzup?”

Allen West “If the State Dept wanted to recognize a brave Egyptian woman why not activist Cynthia Farahat who had to flee Egypt”

AWTV

by Allen West via Facebook

In typical Obama Administration fashion, the State Department and the FLOTUS were going to present an award to an Egyptian woman, Samira Ibrahim. Turns out she is a flaming radical Islamist, anti-Semite, and anti-American. To hear the State Department spokesperson say her social media rants were unknown really makes one question their competence….Or perhaps they knew and intended to give Ibrahim the recognition? After all we just gave the Muslim Brotherhood $250M in taxpayer dollars. If they wanted to recognize a brave Egyptian woman and political activist, they should have chosen a brilliant Coptic Christian woman who had to flee Egypt, Cynthia Farahat. She lives in DC, so let’s all contact the White House and State Department and tell them to present Cynthia with the award tomorrow and finalize her plea for political asylum.

Allen West “America is not a monarchy and the White House is not Versailles”

AW28

by Allen West via Facebook

The White House and the US Capitol belong to the American people. What kind of autocrat believes he can tell the American people to get out? This is a Constitutional Republic and those in elected positions serve at the behest of the electorate. America is not a monarchy and the White House is not Versailles. We can give the Muslim Brotherhood government of Egypt $250M from taxpayers but tell the American people they cannot visit their symbols of liberty, freedom, and democracy? President Obama, where are your priorities, where lies your loyalty?

Cynthia Farahat “Life As An Activist Woman In Egypt” with Michelle Fields on Next Generation TV

To grow up as a woman of Coptic Christian faith in the Muslim heartland of Egypt is to live as a fourth-class citizen. To embrace the mantle of activist in that atmosphere is worse still. Cynthia Farahat knows because that was her life.

Now an associate fellow at the Middle East Forum in the United States, Farahat chatted about the trials of her life with Next Generation TV’s Michelle Fields this week, and they have been numerous.

Farahat realized as young as age 6 that Egypt under then-President Hosni Mubarek was oppressive. “Being born under a dictatorship, it never feels normal and it never feels usual,” she said. And by her teen years she took an interest in political affairs.

Farahat wanted to be an artist, but that was the surest way not to become one in Mubarak’s Egypt. She said the government forced her instead to study law in college. Learning about Sharia law there awakened the activist within her, and then Islamic terrorists attacked the United States on Sept. 11, 2001.

“When 9/11 happened,” Farahat said, “I decided to actually take a step and do something about it because America was our safe haven.”

Conversations with others that started anonymously online soon led to in-person meetings and a new political party. “Of course we were getting a lot of attraction from the hounds of hell” in the form of dozens of death threats a day, she said.

But the next generation of Egypt grew evermore restless for change until the perfect political storm materialized in the “Arab Spring” of 2011. The convergence of pro-democratic protests and a “Down with Mubarak” military coup briefly created hope for a better life in Egypt for youth like Farahat.

So why is Farahat in America now? Watch the interview for the scoop.
