Emails surface of egregious gerrymandering of Florida’s Congressional Districts| Wasserman-Shultz

The proverbial political cat is out of the bag for the Democratic Party, as emails obtained by our friends over at the Washington Free Beacon expose egregious gerrymandering of Florida’s congressional districts between Congresswoman Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the Democratic National Committee, Democratic consultants, and the Florida Democratic Party during the 2012 redistricting process.

The Shark Tank broke the story that Congressman Allen West was going to be “screwed” during redistricting, because of a deal the Republican controlled Florida Legislature had struck with Democrats. While Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin pounced on the redistricting “fix” that was taking place against Allen West, the GOP establishment moved quickly to cover its own hind, as several high-ranking legislators directly pointed the finger at two legislators as being the responsible parties of the controversy, former Senate President Mike Haridopolos and current Senate President Don Gaetz.(Rush Limbaugh discussed Shark Tank story of Allen West)

The legislators in question told the Shark Tank that Haridopolos personally asked to let the state Senate redistrict West’s congressional district. Again, desperate politicians looking to save their careers will say anything to stay out of hot water, perhaps even lie about Haridopolos’ direct involvement.

Allen West sums it up in a recap of CPAC 2013, Allen West Guardian Fund and more

Dear Friends

Between launching the Allen West Guardian Fund and speaking at and attending the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) just outside Washington, DC, it’s been an eventful week. You’re probably surprised to hear from me again, but I promise I won’t ask you for money today. I simply want to recap what’s happened over the past 5 days.

  • On Tuesday, we announced the Guardian Fund and our goal to raise $5 million over the next two years to elect 12 hard-charging, constitutional conservatives to Congress. Thanks to your unwavering support and that of thousands of patriots like you, we’re well on the way to meeting our goal.
  • On Thursday, I gave one of the opening addresses at CPAC and outlined what we as conservatives must do to start winning elections again and reminded the audience why we must combat the Obama administration’s radical leftist agenda at every turn. I encourage you to check out the speech here, because the one-liners the media have reported don’t do it justice.
  • I spent the remainder of CPAC meeting with activists and listening to the concerns, ambitions, and plans conservatives across America have for the next few years. I returned home to Florida last night with a renewed sense of hope and today, my faith in our conservative movement is greater than ever.

I’m very excited about what the next two years will bring for conservatives, and of course the Guardian Fund. We have our work cut out for us, but I’m confident that our values will prevail over the radical left and we’ll succeed in our mission.

Thank you for your continued support and friendship.

Steadfast and loyal,

Allen West

Don’t even think of typecasting or pigeonholing Angela Graham-West wife of Allen West

AGW1

BY  for AdvisorOne.com

Don’t even think of typecasting or pigeonholing Angela Graham-West. The university professor-turned-financial advisor fits no mold whatsoever.

An FA since 1998, she joined Raymond James & Associates five years ago in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale, Fla., branch and manages client assets of more than $30 million in partnership with FA Leon Rehak.

As an African-American female advisor, Graham-West is a rarity. It would therefore be naïve to expect that gender and race have presented no issues for her working in the predominantly white-male financial services industry.

“We’d be kidding ourselves if we didn’t think we have to prove ourselves a bit more. People immediately assume that the older Caucasian male with white hair, before he even opens his mouth, knows what he’s talking about—as opposed to me, a black woman with natural hair. I might even be a little wiser, but that’s not the first thing that comes to mind,” says Graham-West, who is outspoken but chatty, too, in a way that promotes easy rapport.

Her book of business is a mix of clients, both high net worth and middle income. At the upper end, Caucasian individuals predominate.

She aspires to add more affluent African-Americans to her client list and has some promising prospects. But with the population of Broward County—where Fort Lauderdale is located—low in blacks and heavy in Democrats, that’s a challenge for this African-American conservative libertarian.

“I do my own prospecting within my own circles. I attract people I have a lot in common with; but I don’t know a large number of African-American conservatives,” she says. Broward County’s population is 20% black, according to Broward.org.

Reflected in Graham-West’s client base as well is “the way African-Americans view the Republican Party right now,” she notes. “Some clients want to come to an advisor just for their expertise, but others want to identify with you on every level—they view the whole package.”

And Graham-West’s personal life surely plays a role in prospects’ perception of her. She is married to Allen B. West, former Florida congressman and prominent, controversial Tea Party spark who last year lost a bid for re-election. The battle was rancorous on both sides, with West’s confrontational—some charge, inflammatory—style fueling detractors.

“My husband and I have some of the same political [philosophy]. We’re both conservatives—that’s the main thing. But,” insists the FA, wed to West for 23 years and by whom she has two teenage daughters, “Allen isn’t the conservative dragon the media paints him as. That isn’t who he is.”

A former Army lieutenant colonel, West, notes his wife, with a laugh, does not win every argument at their Palm Beach Gardens home.

“He’s a powerful speaker, but I speak as well. My husband is a very logical speaker, though, which can be frustrating. He’ll say: ‘Let’s remove all emotion and look at this rationally.’ As if I wasn’t looking at it rationally before!”

Allen West gets a little inspiration to “ratchet it up”

AW16

by Allen West via Facebook

Friday night 8 pm PST here waiting for my flight back home on Jet Blue to Ft Lauderdale. I went over to get a drink of water and take my daily vitamins. All of a sudden some black fella comes up to me and says, “Excuse me Sir, you are nothing more than a tool”. Immediately I thought, now how do you respond, so I said, “What?” He repeated, “You are a tool.” He then proceeded back to Gladstone’s Restaurant. I suppose this liberal lugnut never read Proverbs Chapter 17, verse 28. Keep it up all y’all. You just inspire me to ratchet it up.” Steadfast and Loyal.

“I anxiously await President Obama’s gun control proposals. I must ask if those in his administration who promoted Operation Fast and Furious were consulted on any of these measures. The hypocrisy is truly laughable.

Furthermore, I wonder if the President considered inviting the mother and the two 9-year-old twins from Walton County, Georgia who were saved by a gun from a criminal invasion? How about letters from our children who want spending control and debt reduction in order to preserve their future? Will they get to be political stage props?

I wish the President would review the entire Declaration of Independence and recognize the parallel of grievances Jefferson articulated against King George III and understand that Americans will stand up for the next generation!”
