Allen West Statement “We Should Only Redouble Our Resolve”

For two weeks since Election Day, we have been working to ensure every vote is counted accurately and fairly. We have made progress towards that goal, thanks to the dedication of our supporters and their unrelenting efforts to protect the integrity of the democratic process. While many questions remain unanswered, today I am announcing that I will take no further action to contest the outcome of this election.

While there are certainly still inaccuracies in the results and the actions of the St. Lucie County and Palm Beach County Supervisors of Elections rightly raise questions in my mind and for many voters, after much analysis and yesterday’s recount in St. Lucie County, our legal team does not believe there are enough over-counted, undercounted or fraudulent votes to change the outcome of the election.

While a contest of the election results might have changed the vote totals, we do not have evidence that the outcome would change. Given the extremely high evidentiary hurdles involved in a successful challenge, I will not ask my generous supporters to help fund a drawn-out, expensive legal effort with little chance of success. Therefore, we will not contest the certification or challenge the seating of Congressman-Elect Murphy.

Serving the people in the House of Representatives has been among the highest honors of my life, but this seat does not belong to me, or for that matter, to any individual. It belongs to the people. I want to congratulate my opponent, Patrick Murphy, as the new Congressman from 18th Congressional District. I pray he will serve his constituents with honor and integrity, and put the interests of our nation before his own.

I must thank my wife Angela, and my daughters Aubrey and Austen for their support, patience, understanding and most of all, love. These are three of the toughest women I know. They have sent me off to defend our nation overseas at war and to Capitol Hill to serve our nation in the House of Representatives. They have all handled the challenges of these last few months, and the last many years, with amazing grace. I know they will be my side for whatever is our next chapter.

I must also thank my congressional and campaign staff for their service, and most importantly, I must thank you and our other tremendous supporters who provided their time and money to power our campaign. I am humbled by the dedication and perseverance of our supporters, and their commitment to a free and prosperous America. I cannot thank them enough for all they have done for our campaign, but most importantly, what they have done, and will continue to do for our country. None of us should let the outcome discourage us. We should only redouble our resolve.

Above all, I want to thank God for his blessings, and for blessing me with the opportunity to serve.

Only God knows what is in store for each of us. I have dedicated my life to serving this nation, and the results of this election will not change my purpose. Just as I did in the deserts of Iraq and Afghanistan, just as I did on Capitol Hill, I will continue to fight for our Republic.

Our nation will not overcome our challenges overnight ,and the road ahead for each one of us will not be easy. But this nation would never have become that shining beacon of light if our founders had chosen the easy path 236 years ago. We all must proudly continue their legacy.

God bless you and God bless these United States of America.

Steadfast and Loyal,

Allen B. West

Allen West for Congress campaign sent a letter to Supervisor St. Lucie County BOE

WEST CAMPAIGN DETAILS SERIOUS CONCERNS IN LETTER TO ST. LUCIE COUNTY SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS

Stuart, FL – Yesterday West for Congress campaign sent a letter to Gertrude Walker, St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections, and the Canvassing Board detailing serious questions that have arisen during the canvass process in St. Lucie County prior to certification.

Specifically, the campaign detailed a series of questions regarding the claimed “malfunction” of memory cards used in the optical scanners in the first three days of early voting, as well as discrepancies in the numbers of ballots cast compared to how many voters voted.

Given the extremely close nature of the election, the campaign has requested a response by noon on Friday, November 9.  If satisfactory answers are not provided, further legal action may be taken.

Rep. Allen West “Where We Stand”

First and foremost, I want to thank you for all that you have done throughout the campaign. Your support has been truly incredible. I’m writing to give you an update on where things stand.

Our race is far from decided and there is no rush to declare an outcome. Ensuring a fair and accurate counting of all ballots is of the utmost importance. There are still thousands of absentee ballots to be counted in Palm Beach County and military and provisional ballots across the district. Given the numerous reports of irregularities at the polls and the chaos surrounding the counting of ballots, it is important that we carefully evaluate the results and investigate the irregularities.

I know how hard you have worked for our campaign and I am grateful to have you standing shoulder to shoulder with me. I want you to know that we will fight to ensure every ballot is counted just as we will continue to fight to ensure our Republic remains exceptional and the future of our children and grandchildren is bright. For 22 years I stood as a watchman on the wall to guard America’s honor, liberty, freedom, and democracy.  Now I will continue my oath of service to guard the integrity of our electoral process.

Steadfast and Loyal,

Allen B. West

Allen West Accepts Debate Invitation, Calls on Patrick Murphy to Face the Voters

Stuart, FL – Today Congressman Allen West accepted an invitation from the Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce and Palm Beach State College to debate Democrat nominee Patrick Murphy.  Allen West for Congress released the following statement calling on Patrick Murphy to do the same:

“Our nation faces enormous challenges and voters are looking for serious solutions.  The voters of Palm Beach County deserve an opportunity to cast an educated ballot and the opportunity to witness substantive debates that get beyond talking points and scripted speeches,” said Congressman West.  “I welcome this opportunity to compare my ideas and solutions to my opponent’s lack thereof.”

“It’s time for Patrick Murphy to face the voters and stop hiding behind young children and his father’s racist, vile attack ads.  Spewing hate, discredited lies and poll-tested talking points will not get the nation back on track,” said West Campaign Manager Tim Edson. “It’s time for Patrick Murphy to grow up, accept this debate invitation and take part in a serious conversation on the issues.”

Allen West continues to stand by his challenge for four televised debates open to the public and looks forward to debating Murphy in each county comprising Florida’s 18th Congressional District.

Statement from Congressman Allen West – WEST DECISIVELY WINS PRIMARY

WEST: November election provides voters with clear choices
Stuart, FL – Allen West released this statement tonight after winning the Republican primary for United States Congress in Florida’s 18th Congressional District:
“I am humbled by the overwhelming support from the Republican voters of the Treasure Coast and Palm Beaches, and I am honored to be the Republican nominee for Florida’s 18th Congressional District. While we celebrate this victory tonight, the real battle lies ahead — for our country and the future of our children and grandchildren.
My opponent and the left-wing Super PACs supporting him are already running vile, negative advertising against me instead of addressing the issues.  But that is the only approach my opponent can take, because he has no new ideas and he can’t possibly run on the same failed policies of President Obama and Nancy Pelosi.  He can’t run on his plans for more taxes and spending, or his support for Obamacare–a nationalized healthcare plan which cuts Medicare by $700 billion for current recipients and threatens seniors’ ability to keep their doctors and access the medical care of their choosing.

The comparatively low Democrat voter turnout in this primary demonstrates their disappointment in not only the failed policies of President Obama, but with their own congressional candidate who has done nothing to engender enthusiasm or confidence.

By contrast, Republican voters along the Treasure Coast and Palm Beaches turned out in huge numbers today. They’re energized, motivated, and ready to restore fiscal responsibility, individual sovereignty and free market prosperity to this great nation. I am honored to stand with them here in Florida and represent them in Washington D.C.”

Congressman Allen West is running for election in Florida’s 18th Congressional District including all of St. Lucie and Martin Counties, and part of Palm Beach County. For more information visitwww.AllenWestforCongress.com.
