Hezbollah Mobilizing hundreds of Fighters for New Border Clash
According to reports by local Lebanese media, the Shiite militant group, Hezbollah, has begun mobilizing “hundreds” of fighters to the Syrian border. The deployments come ahead of a major offensive against Syrian rebels in the mountainous Kalamoon region. In recent weeks, concerns have skyrocketed that jihadists based in the area would attempt to launch their own offensive into Lebanese border towns in the Bekaa Valley once the wintry weather dissipates. Hezbollah, with the backing of its Iranian and Assad regime allies, is expected to lead an offensive to rid the Kalamoon region of the rebels, among them several hundred Isis jihadists.
