Kurdistan Government Claims Isis Used Chlorine Gas in Attacks
Kurdistan Regional Government officials issued a statement claiming possession of evidence that confirms Isis use of chlorine bombs in ongoing militant operations in northern Iraq. The evidence reportedly lies in soil and clothing samples taken in the wake of a January 23 car bombing along Highway 47 at the Kiske Junction in the Nineveh Province. There has been a noticeable increase in claims that ISIS has employed chlorine gas in bombing attacks in northern and central Iraq over the past few months. On March 9, conflicting reports surfaced claiming that ISIS carried out a chlorine bombing attack on Shiite militiamen in Samarra’s Industrial District.
