Allen West “Here’s what every single member of Congress should be FORCED to do before voting on Iran deal”

Written By Allen B. West:

The possibility of a vote on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) this week is high. Congress returns from August recess and the Labor Day holiday today. On Wednesday, there will be a large rally on the Capitol steps in opposition to the Iranian nuclear deal. Needless to say, the rally will bring this issue front and center for the House and Senate this week.

What I find rather interesting is the lack of honest debate the progressive socialist left wishes to have on this issue. Recently, head of the Democrat National Committee, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla,) gave full support and endorsement to the JCPOA. Why?

Needless to say, there are plenty of fact-based reasons as to why not support the JCPOA. And Iran just gave us another. As reported in the Israel National News, Arutz Sheva:

Iranian Defense Minister says US ‘obeyed’ Iran’s dictates; Supreme Leader’s website boasts of Iran’s new status as military power.

Iranian leaders view the nuclear deal signed by western powers as a “surrender” to Iran, and as cementing the Islamic Republic’s status as a “superpower.”

An analysis by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) has shed light on the sense of victory held by Iran’s most senior leadership, as neighboring countries prepare for a surge in terrorism sponsored by an emboldened Tehran.

Among the comments translated by MEMRI was a statement made by Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan at an armed forces general command ceremony on August 30, in which he boasted that Iran had forced the “surrender” of the world’s superpowers, led by the US.

“Today, Iran has attained such status that the superpowers have surrendered to it, because of its majesty, its steadfastness, its resistance, and its unity. Despite their great pride, the regime of the arrogance [the West, led by the U.S.] sat humbly behind the negotiating table and obeyed the rights of the Iranian nation,” he said.

Less than a week earlier, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei’s official website published a poster hailing the ascendancy of Iran as a regional hegemony.

And how has all of this been made possible? By one President Barack Obama and one Secretary of State John Kerry — their abject emboldening of the enemy.

Of course, the rhetorical response will be Iran’s leaders are just propagating their propaganda — and so did Adolf Hitler leading up to World War II, as he restored German pride in the post-Weimar Republic era. And even in Russia today, the popularity ratings for Vladimir Putin are strong, despite a slow economy.

There’s something about demagoguery which elevates dictatorial-like leaders. People, often in a depressed state, are looking for a cause around which to rally and feel a sense of national pride. It’s happened before in the past, it can happen again — check, it IS happening again. Iran’s militant Islamist leaders know exactly how to deflect and portray themselves as the victors. Here in America, we have politicians too concerned with spreading a false narrative that displays their reticence and loss of the moral high ground.

Here’s a picture of the poster on Ayatollah Khamenei’s website, entitled the “Iron Fist” ……
