Allen West: Cops attacked with guns, knives; one DEAD

The crime situation is abhorrent, which results from a lack of men, fathers, since the family has been decimated.

As Written By Allen B. West:

As y’all know, Georgia is my birthplace and where my formative years were spent. No matter where life takes me, I shall always be a son of Georgia, the Peach State. And today I offer my condolences to the men and women of the Thin Blue Line in Georgia who lost a brother and are weathering another assault against our law enforcement officers.

As reports, “A police officer was shot dead while responding to a call of a suspicious person in south Georgia, authorities said. The shooting occurred Saturday night after the officer, Tim Smith, got the call in a residential area in Eastman, special agent Scott Whitley of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations said.

While on patrol, Smith encountered the subject and exited his car. That’s when he was fatally shot, Whitley said. There is no suspect in custody. Eastman is in Dodge County, about 130 miles from Atlanta.”

But that’s not the only thing that happened in Georgia over the weekend. Fox News reported, “Two men were arrested after exchanging gunfire with officers that left one wounded outside an apartment in suburban Atlanta, police said.

Marietta police spokeswoman Kelah Wallace said the officer was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after being shot around 4:24 a.m. Sunday. The shooting occurred outside the Gallery Apartments when three officers responded to a call about people breaking into cars. Wallace said the officers approached two suspects who were inside a vehicle.

One of the suspects from the vehicle started shooting at the officers, striking one of them. The three officers returned fire, hitting one of the suspects, Wallace said. Both suspects were eventually arrested. The wounded suspect was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Names of the officer and suspects have not been released. The Marietta shooting came just hours after an officer in Eastman was shot and killed.

And if this wasn’t enough, “A man stabbed a police officer who was responding to a 911 call Saturday in Long Island, New York, authorities said.

When police arrived at the scene, they were met by a man armed with knives, Suffolk County Police Department said in a statement. The man stabbed the officer in the face before another officer shot the suspect once in the abdomen, police said. The suspect was hospitalized in critical condition. The stabbed officer was transported to hospital, where he had facial surgery and is expected to survive, police said. The attacks are under investigation.”

Do we have police demonstrations and neighborhoods burning over this? Of course not. As a matter of fact, these brave men and women will once again, take to the streets to try and promote some semblance of domestic tranquility.

Right now, the focus is on Milwaukee where an armed suspect, who was ordered to drop his visible gun, did not, and was summarily shot. By the way, the suspect was black…and so was the officer. Nonetheless, riots ensue.

On the other hand, a law-abiding servant of the community is gunned down and chances are the name of Patrol Officer Tim Smith will not be remembered.

What will happen is the media will focus on the armed suspect who was shot by police, an individual with a criminal record. And the difference in reactions is very telling as well. There will be sad reflection and tears over the loss of Patrol Officer Smith. But no cars will be burned.

Now, there’s only one question to answer. If you’re an armed suspect fleeing law enforcement — with a firearm — and are asked to remit yourself from possession of said weapon but refuse, then what in God’s name does anyone think will be the consequence? I suppose we should just give out “peace bonds.” We’re seeing a blatant disrespect and disregard for the authority of law enforcement agencies in the United States, and that’s not a good place to be.

I did a little research and there have been some 9 to 10 shootings in the same Milwaukee neighborhood, with five deaths. You just have to ask, where were the riots and protests then? What about Chicago where there’s record breaking criminal activity resulting in hundreds of deaths — in the black community. We report about that nearly every week. Should police officers just abandon these inner city areas and leave them to their own survival? Absolutely not, and these men and women have taken an oath to serve and protect, which they do every day. Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines — some of them may never deploy into a combat zone, but you can bet your bottom dollar that every police officer is there on the ground, kissing family members and loved ones good bye for another day, praying they will return.

Dallas Police Chief Brown said it best, that those out rioting and protesting should come to Dallas, be a part of the solution, not just the problem.

Chief Brown directly challenged the naysayers by saying they were hiring and they can always join his force and become part of those seeking goodwill.

Instead we have people, driven by media elites and white progressive socialists, who do nothing by way of presenting solutions — just rabble rousing. What happens if the day comes when the inner cities are treated like the battleground which they have become?

The new 21st century economic plantation firmly supported by the likes of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton is thriving. We’re witnessing the results of what Lyndon Johnson started with his “Great Society” social welfare programs that destroyed the black family. This may not have been what Johnson ….
