This wouldn’t be worthy of assessment and commentary if it weren’t for the revelations about the cash provided to the Iranians.
As Written By Allen B. West:
If you haven’t noticed, something very interesting is happening with the Obama administration. Well, let me clarify that sentence — once again the Obama administration is doing something really bizarre – sadly, a pretty regular occurrence. I just have to say, back in 2009 I don’t believe the American people thought it would come to this. And of course those of us who could see right through the facade of Obama were utterly demonized. But, we now truly know what the fundamental transformation of the United States of America looks like.
And it’s ugly.
As we reported last week, Congress unanimously approved House Resolution 3815, also known as the “Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act” or JASTA, allows U.S. citizens to sue foreign countries for terrorism that kills Americans on U.S. soil. The law has been invoked to shield Saudi Arabia from lawsuits over the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Fifteen out of 19 men who hijacked commercial airliners and used them as missiles to target the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were subjects of the Saudi kingdom.
The Senate version of JASTA, proposed by John Cornyn (R-Texas) and Charles Schumer (D-New York), was approved in May by 100 votes to zero. The House approved it last Friday by unanimous consent, giving the Republican-dominated legislature the ability to override a veto from President Barack Obama.
As reported by Fox News, “The bill heads soon to President Obama’s desk, testing whether the White House will follow through on warnings that the president could veto.
The administration for months has argued the legislation could harm the country’s relationship with Saudi Arabia and put U.S. officials stationed overseas in jeopardy. But Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas, said the U.S. government should be more concerned about the families of the victims than “diplomatic niceties.”
The bill would give victims’ families the right to sue in U.S. court for any role that elements of the Saudi government may have played in the 2001 attacks that killed thousands of Americans in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania. Poe said he doesn’t know if the Saudi government had a role in the attacks.
“That’s for a jury of Americans to decide,” he said. The vote was held ahead of the 15th anniversary of the terror attacks.
Following Friday’s vote, Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., one of the authors of the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act, said he was “pleased” the House had “taken this huge step forward towards justice” and said he hoped the Obama administration would not veto the bill. “There are always diplomatic considerations that get in the way of justice, but if a court proves the Saudis were complicit in 9/11, they should be held accountable,” Schumer said in a written statement. “If they’ve done nothing wrong, they have nothing to worry about.”
Now, you ask what’s so very interesting about this? Well, first of all, I’m in complete agreement with New York Senator Chuck Schumer — then again Chuckie, even a broken clock is right twice a day.
What has me perplexed is why would the president of the United States threaten to veto a measure allowing the victims of 9-11 to pursue justice against Saudi Arabia?
After all, let’s be honest, the majority of the 9-11 Islamic jihadists who perpetrated the most horrific attack against the United States since Pearl Harbor came from one country, Saudi Arabia. And for Obama to issue a veto threat against this measure, one that came just days before the 15th anniversary of 9-11, evidences someone who is not in touch with the American people. It also gives credibility to many theories about Obama’s loyalties. And perception sure lends itself to reality when it comes to the evaluation of one Barack Hussein Obama and his policies involving Islamists.
This wouldn’t be worthy of assessment and commentary if it weren’t for the revelations about the cash provided to the Iranians. First of all, we owe nothing to the current militant Islamic regime in Iran. The original arms deal was made with the Shah of Iran, not with the mad mullahs and ayatollahs of the number one state sponsor of Islamic terrorism.
What is concerning is that the Obama administration has made a misguided decision to supply Iran with billions of dollars in laundered cash — not to mention the lifting of economic sanctions. This financial boon comes to an Iran with massive amounts of American blood on its hands — something we know definitively. So why is it that Obama is giving cash to Iran while the families, the victims of Iranian-sponsored Islamic terrorism are disregarded? The Obama administration is even using legal means to tie up the restitution of money to these families.
And now we have a supposed American president more concerned about hurting the diplomatic feelings of the Saudis. If they’re not guilty then nothing should come of any investigations and lawsuits against them — my belief is that they are guilty. Therefore the Saudis have reacted with threats. And now, the Saudis have hinted at more “extremism” – i.e. terrorism — in an effort to intimidate our nation — actually Obama. And you can rest assured Obama will use a very weak excuse that we don’t need to take this action because it will put more Americans at risk.
Heck, it was the Obama State Department that recently issued a warning to Americans to beware of Iranian intentions to take Americans hostage. Hmm, now, I wonder why the Iranians would wanna do that? Can you gue$$?
The good thing about this whole matter with Saudi Arabia is that any veto from Obama will be overruled by Congress — they have the votes to do it. Remember, this is an election year — which leads to the political question of, why would Obama make the veto declaration on this? Because if anyone is smart, you know the question that’s coming…Secretary Clinton, do you agree with President Obama’s veto against the Congress-passed measure allowing American victims of 9-11 to sue Saudi Arabia?
There’s only one response Clinton must give, which is an unequivocal NO! But that puts her in disagreement with someone she really needs on the campaign trail: Barack Obama. However, if she sides with Obama, about whom she said she will continue his fundamental transformation, it will be damning for her campaign, and remember she was a Senator from New York.
What is REALLY interesting is that Obama wants to veto Americans seeking restitution and compensation for a country that could be responsible for support to the 9-11 conspirators. Yet, Obama has announced he’s going to open up our Republic for hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees next year, as we know how that’s working in Germany. So Obama wants to veto the measure against Saudi Arabia but will open this country up to potentially more ….
