Allen West: There are 20 tragic deaths EVERY day Obama will NEVER mention

The organization whose mission statement says, “To fulfill President Lincoln’s promise “To care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan” by serving and honoring the men and women who are America’s veterans,” is failing them.

As Written By Allen B. West:

Without a doubt the nation is fixated on the Dallas tragedy, and let us not allow our collective sorrow to erase the free pass given to one corrupt liar named Hillary Clinton — who seems to want to inherit the throne of another corrupt liar, Barack Obama.

Sorry folks, but if you want sugar-coated, go to the local grocery store and get some Frosted Flakes — then again, you could just go to Washington D.C. which is chock full of flakes and nuts, along with phonies and frauds.

But I need to bring your attention to a critical and sad fact in our America. If there is one thing that is noble, honorable, and the embodiment of the highest standards of integrity and character, it is those who take the oath to support and defend our Constitution and take a position upon freedom’s rampart to safeguard our way of life.

When you get disgusted with the images of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama — consider our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines, who are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice and give that last full measure of devotion.

But, are we truly devoted to them? This report says no.

According to USA Today, “An average of 20 veterans a day committed suicide in 2014, a trend that reflects record high rates among young men fresh out of the military and growing numbers of women taking their lives, the first actual count of suicides among former service members shows.

The Department of Veterans Affairs previously had only estimated suicides, saying in 2010 there was an average of 22 a day. The 2014 data released Thursday is based on a precise tabulation of the 7,403 deaths.

David Shulkin, VA undersecretary for health, noted the slight decline from the 2010 estimate, but added, “it’s still far too high.”

The 2014 count is the first slice of a massive examination of 55 million veteran death records dating back to 1979. Shulkin said that a final report due in several weeks will detail more suicide trends.

The VA found the worst suicide pattern among male veterans, ages 18-29. Their suicide rate was 86 per 100,000 people, nearly four times the rate among active-duty service members last year.

By contrast, the overall U.S. suicide rate is 13 per 100,000 people, according to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.”

I wear a plain black ring on the trigger finger of my salute hand called the #22Kill ring. It reminds me that 22 of my brothers and sisters are taking their lives every day. That is a grim reminder we’re failing.

This week from Warsaw, Poland, President Obama, the commander in chief, took to the stage to address the shooting of two black males in Louisiana and Minnesota. I just have to ask, do any of you recall Obama taking to the stage, shedding tears, and talking about the national shame on his watch of this deplorable phenomenon? When was the last time Obama stood and said, this scourge of our veterans taking their lives must end?

Last month I traveled to Cayman Brac to scuba dive with an organization called Dive Pirates. Each summer they sponsor two weeks of dive certification for our wounded warriors and disabled veterans. I had the distinct privilege of diving with a young Army Captain who had lost her leg during an ambush in Iraq. Just to be there on the boat with her and be her dive buddy meant the world to her — but truthfully it did more for me.

The night prior we just talked, and the night after our dive day, we spoke candidly. She confided in me her innermost thoughts as she asked me about my episode in Iraq with the Army. She asked me if I felt the Army had turned its back on me, and did it hurt. I told her it did hurt, but I also realized that God was preparing me for a greater task, a mission He had designed. And God needed to know I would stand — regardless of the pain — that I would be steadfast and resolute, trusting in Him.

She admitted what she’d been considering because she felt the Army had abandoned her. She was not an active duty Soldier, but then again, who cares, we’re one team, Army Strong! Unfortunately, bureaucrats were giving her the runaround about her treatments and care. They were trying to delineate her from being an active duty Soldier.

What should anger all of us is that VA Secretary Bob McDonald compared the care of our Warriors to waiting for a ride at a damn amusement park. What should incense you even more is after that despicable statement, President Obama praised McDonald, as we reported here. The fact that McDonald is still ….
