An Exclusive Interview with Lt Col Allen West

BY: FERN SIDMAN for JewishVoiceNY

While many Americans genuinely cherish the values of democracy, justice and freedom that we have been weened on, only a few of us can say that we embody a living and breathing paradigm of such.  It was the distinct honor and privilege for The Jewish Voice to talk with Lt. Col Allen West of Florida. Not only has this man served his country with valor for 22 years of his life in the US Army, but has continues his oath of service to his country when he was elected to the United States Congress, representing Florida’s 22nd District.

Lt Col West has seen action in several combat zones including Operation Desert Storm; in Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he was a Battalion Commander in the Army’s 4th Infantry Division, and later in Afghanistan. He received many honors including a Bronze Star, three Meritorious Service Medals, three Army Commendation Medals and a Valorous Unit Award. In 1993 he was named the US Army ROTC Instructor of the Year.

As a member of the 112th Congress, he sat on the Small Business and Armed Services Committees and was instrumental in passage of the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act.

Moreover, Lt. Col West is a Fox News contributor and can be seen regularly on the “Justice with Judge Jeanine” program. Because of his erudition in foreign affairs and domestic policy, he has been called upon to write for numerous media outlets and is    a Senior Fellow at the London Center for Policy Research.

Having been born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia in the same neighborhood where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once preached, Lt. Col West, is the third of four generations of military servicemen in his family. He is also an avid distance runner, a Master SCUBA diver and motorcyclist.

“Honor, duty and country” have become to personify Lt. Col West and he is certainly not afraid to confront the mendacity of his liberal, leftist opponents.
