Jake Tapper, of CNN, recently made a few remarks during an interview with Rolling Stone magazine that his colleagues in the mainstream media may not be too happy about. Tapper stressed how the the medis was much slower to call out former President Obama’s “falsehoods” while in office solely because they were “much more supportive” of him.
“A lot of people on the left didn’t like it [when Tapper called out falsehoods from the president] before, and now they like it,” Tapper said in an interview with Rolling Stone published Tuesday morning.
“I don’t want to compare President Obama and President Trump on these issues because they’re different and the scale isn’t even remotely the same. But President Obama said things that weren’t true and got away with it more for a variety of reasons, and one is the media was much more supportive of him,” he added. “The Obama White House thought I was self-righteous and a huge pain in the ass.”
President Trump has had a very uphill battle when it comes to mainstream media, especially CNN. They’ve shown that they don’t necessarily care what the narrative may be as long as it seems like it would be hot and potentially used against President Donald Trump as they falsely believe that most Americans are against him. For most in the mainstream media it’s all about the ratings.
I’m actually fond of President Trump’s firing back at MSM sources such as CNN. Some may call it “unpresidental” but I like that my POTUS doesn’t take it lying down.
But after reading this interview I may look more into Tapper and his cover of anything during the Obama-era. I’m interested to see if he actually called him out on anything remotely not true. I didn’t especially watch CNN during that time and still only do for a good laugh. So this will be an interesting experiment for me.
