There are so many new sexual harassment charges arising everyday that somebody should probably start a chart on who is charged with what by whom. the sad thing is that the Democrats and other liberals seem to be in the majority in receiving charges. That doe snot sit well with their claims to be the party FOR women. Today, it looks like Bad John Conyers just added another to his tally.
As Written By Allen B. West:
Ah, the duplicitous hypocrisy of the left is never ending, and we have yet another example. It appears that someone has been called out for being a recipient of the Congressional taxpayer slush fund to pay off sexual harassment settlements against its members. Since about 1997, there’s been near $17 million paid out in these settlements…yes, your taxpayer dollars. And now, the face of one of those Congressional members has been revealed. The perplexing part is who has stepped up to defend him.
As reported by the Washington Examiner, “Rep. John Conyers, newly facing sexual misconduct charges from former aides, was praised by fellow Rep. Maxine Waters just last month as a champion of women.
During an address to organizers of the national Women’s March in which she lashed out at “rape culture” and President Trump, she singled out the Michigan lawmaker for special attention. “You know, there is a member of Congress who has been supportive of women for many, many, many years,” she said in a keynote address to the Women’s Convention Sojourner Truth Luncheon in Detroit. “He is quiet, he is confident, he is powerful, but he has impeccable integrity on all of our issues. Give John Conyers a big round of applause.”
C-SPAN captured her comments and those of others who spoke at the event. In her address she rallied women. “We are reclaiming our time,” said the outspoken Trump critic. “We’re speaking to women who are single mothers, women who work two and three jobs making minimum wage or less, women who have been exploited, harassed, or taken advantage of in their personal and professional lives,” said Waters, adding: “I just want to take time to focus on something that I think we need to focus on right now. It is very fortuitous that we are gathered here this afternoon in Detroit as we continue to recognize a record number of women who are boldly coming forward to reveal disturbing and grotesque acts of sexual harassment, assault and rape, often times at the hands of men who believed they were too rich and too powerful to ever be confronted or held accountable.”
Oh boy, why is it that the progressive socialist left always makes the determination which women are to be believed? The allegations against Rep. John Conyers are really damning, and the fact that one of his former staffers received a taxpayer funded settlement does not bode well. But, will Rep. Maxine “Mad Max” Waters focus her anger towards Rep. Conyers? After all, didn’t she just say, “t is very fortuitous that we are gathered here this afternoon in Detroit as we continue to recognize a record number of women who are boldly coming forward to reveal disturbing and grotesque acts of sexual harassment, assault and rape, often times at the hands of men who believed they were too rich and too powerful to ever be confronted or held accountable.” So, does Rep. Waters and her acolytes then decide which women are credible and who should be held accountable based on their demented political ideology?
Just in case you’re a little confused, or had not heard about Rep. John Conyers, here’s a short summary:
“Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee and the longest-serving current House member, allegedly settled a wrongful dismissal complaint in 2015 after a former employee accused him of firing her for not yielding to his “sexual advances.”
According to affidavits signed by four former staffers, three of which are notarized, Conyers on multiple occasions made unwanted sexual advanced to his female staff, Buzzfeed reported Monday. The sexual misconduct included asking for sexual favors, caressing and touching, rubbing legs and backs in public, and having his staff contact and transport women they believed were having affairs with Conyers. Four anonymous sources involved verified the authenticity of the documents to BuzzFeed. Conyers was also accused of using taxpayer dollars to fly in women who his staffers assumed he was having affairs. That was also a part of the same suit settled out of court.”
But it’s not just Rep. Waters. Senator Elizabeth Warren was asked if she believed her colleague, Senator Al Franken, should step down on the CBS Late Show with Colbert…she obfuscated. This however is nothing new as we all remember how the women who came out alleging Bill Clinton’s abhorrent behavior were demonized, denigrated, demeaned, and disparaged…and that came from the venerable champion of women, Hillary Clinton. And that reaction continued even up until last year in the 2016 presidential election.
Funny, all of a sudden New York Senator Kirsten Gillebrand has come out to say that Bill Clinton should have stepped down as president for what he did with Monica Lewinsky. My question is simple, why didn’t Gillebrand take that stand when she was seeking out the political endorsement of Bill Clinton? Of course, these are the same women who’ve gone apoplectic, demanding Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore step down. My point is not to debate Judge Moore’s guilt or innocence, my point is to ask why is there a different standard of belief or criteria for evidence and truth when it comes to…….
