James Hodgkinson, aka The Congressional Shooter, visited Bernie Sanders’ office before the shooting and, apparently, was in contact with two Senators. Given that his home state was Illinois, the belief is that the two Senators he was in contact with (via email) were Tammy Duckworth and Dick Durbin… some color names… anyway…
When Sanders got wind of Hodgkinson and learned he had volunteered for his campaign, the former Presidential hopeful condemned him and his actions.
Violence of any kind is unacceptable in our society and I condemn this action in the strongest possible terms. pic.twitter.com/hyfmmpgXML

Hopefully we’ll continue to see some of these liberal whack-a-doos at least step forward and publicly state stuff like this. I mean, who knows what they’re doing behind closed doors but at least the face of it more of them need to do this.
Yes there are radicals on every side, and we should never be OK with that.
The FBI has officially announced that it will treat the shooting as an “assault” and not an act or terrorism which is, if you ask me, complete and total stupidity. At the very least it’s literally a hate crime, right?
They announce this despite the fact that he associated with social media groups such as “Terminate The Republican Party” and actually carried a HIT-LIST of names of the House Freedom Caucus on himself during the shooting.
IN CASE You’ve been living under a rock, on June 14th, 2017 John Hodgkinson (of Belleville, Illinois) shot at several Republican members of Congress, critically injuring some of them including House Majority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana. They were practicing for the annual Congressional Baseball game, a charity event that was scheduled to happen the following day.
After his initial shooting, a ten-minute shoot ensued between Hodgkinson and Capitol officers. He later died from his wounds at George Washington University Hospital.
Scalise is now considered in fair condition.
