Hamas Founders Son Defends Israel and then Skillfully Tears Apart the Palestinian Authority

Of all the people that might speak up on behalf of Israel, this speaker would have been way down the list. Mosab Hassan Yousef’s father was a founding member of Hamas, and he grew up in Ramallah as a member of Hamas. Yousef was speaking at the United Nations to the human rights council as the council discussed alleged Israeli violations of Palestinian human rights. He identifies the Palestinian Authority as the real enemy of the Palestinian people. The weirdest part of this event is that the defense of Israel took place during a time devoted to allowing the Arabs to spew their hate out at the only democracy in the Middle East. Read on.

On Monday, Mosab Hassan Yousef, whose father was a founding member of Hamas, addressed the U.N. human rights council as the council discussed alleged Israeli violations of Palestinian human rights, all too typical, as the council will not discuss human rights violations committed by countries such as Syria, Sudan, Iran, or North Korea.

Yousef, speaking on behalf of UN Watch, minced no words in placing blame. He stated:

My name is Mosab Hassan Yousef. I grew up in Ramallah as a member of Hamas.

I address my words to the Palestinian Authority, which claims to be the “sole legitimate representative” of the Palestinian people.

I ask: where does your legitimacy come from?

The Palestinian people did not elect you, and they did not appoint you to represent them.

You are self-appointed.

Your accountability is not to your own people. This is evidenced by your total violation of their human rights.

In fact, the Palestinian individual and their human development is the least of your concerns……..
