(FORT LAUDERDALE) —- Congressman Allen West (FL-22) released this statement today on the death of former Broward County Sheriff Nick Navarro:
“Today, Broward County lost a great law enforcement warrior. Sheriff Nick Navarro served this community proudly from 1985- 1992, during a time of rapid growth, accomplishment and notoriety for Broward County. Sheriff Navarro was an innovator, leading the way in fighting crime, not only in the state of Florida, but around the country. His leadership helped put the success of the Broward County law enforcement in the national spotlight, where it remains today. He fought hard to keep drugs off the street and residents safe, never backing down in the plight to better the lives of residents. A personal friend to myself and my wife, Angela, Sheriff Navarro will be remembered as a Patriot who was dedicated to his community, his friends, loved ones and his law enforcement family. My prayers go out to Sheriff Navarro’s wife, Sharon, and the rest of their family on this somber of all days.”
