Wounded Vet’s Newly Donated Home Burglarized and Purple Heart Stomped On | Video

Police are searching for the suspects who burglarized the home of a veteran and father of five who just recently cut the ribbon on his donated home in Sanford.

Jackie Irving, who was badly wounded in a mortar blast in Afghanistan, was at church Sunday with his family when the home was ransacked.

The family moved into the home in Seminole County just three months ago.

Police say the intruders got into the home through an unlocked door, stole $6,000 worth of electronics and four guns, including an antique pistol.

“My Purple Heart was stepped on. It’s bad when a soldier thinks he’s over there defending his country and his country don’t give a God darn about him.”
